Huntsman required a fast curing surface coating system with high mechanical abrasion resistance, no VOC contents, no cracking and stable features for the restoration and waterproofing for the complete roof of its European Headquarters in Everberg, Belgium. Application with 1:1 heated, high-pressure, plural component equipment (Graco XP-2). Pressure of time for fast completion and cost advantages favoured QuickSpray Industrial (aromatic), a 2-part Pure Polyurea Coating-System derived from a reaction of Isocyanate and a Polyamine terminated resin.

Processing took place in 3 steps:

1. Bitumen was prepared and cleaned of any residues that may have an effect to bonding.

2. Certain parts were primed.

3. The aromatic Polyurea QuickSpray applied with heated mixing equipment.

The complete process of surface-preparation and application of the Polyurea System was successfully completed in 3 days. Afterwards a green roof was placed on top.
