Kahramaa – Qatar General Electricity and Water Corp. Kahramaa – Qatar General Electricity and Water Corp. needed a fast curing surface coating system with high mechanical abrasion resistance, without VOC or cracking and with stable properties for waterproofing the complete roof of the drinking water tanks in Qatar. The application was carried out with a 1:1 heated high-pressure multi-component system (Graco XP-2). The system chosen was QuickSeal PP-350 2 part polyurea system and a solvent free primer, QuickPrime 2K EP SF. The complete process of surface preparation and application of the primer on 120,000 m² was successfully completed in 4 months.

The processing took place in 3 steps:

1. The concrete has been prepared and cleaned of any residue that could affect adhesion
2. The surface has been primed and adhesion improved
3. Polyurea QuickSeal was applied using a high pressure heated spray gun
