The Middle East and North Africa are the world’s most arid regions and rely on desalination to meet drinking water needs. When completed in 2022, the Umm Al Quwain desalination plant will be the fifth largest plant in the world, producing 683,000 m³ of drinking water per day. All desalination plants require a coating system that is both chemical resistant and suitable for contact with drinking water. Due to time constraints, the customer was looking for an alternative to the originally specified system. QuickSpray Aqua was chosen because it met and in some cases exceeded the customer’s requirements.
