Lining of 4 concrete tanks of sea water and potable. Long-term durability is needed, as any repairs during the operation are costly and complicated. To reduce shutdown times, a fast coating system was required. The surface was pre-treated with an EP primer incl. a moisture barrier. QuickSpray Industrial W (100% Polyurea) was chosen thanks to its mechanical properties, chemical
resistance and potable water approvals (WRAS-UK).
Processing steps:
1. High pressure washing of surface
2. Abrasive blast
3. Resurfacing by cementitious mortar
4. Priming
5. QuickSpray IND W , 1.5mm applied
The application was completed in few days to the complete satisfaction of the owner.
