Laing O`Rourke required a fast curing surface coating system with high chemical resistance, no VOC contents, no cracking and stable features for the primary containment bund area. Application with 1:1 heated, high-pressure, plural component equipment. Pressure of time for fast completion and stringent requirement for high chemical resistance favoured the aromatic Polyurea QuickSpray, a 100% Polyurea 2-part Coating-System derived from a reaction of Isocyanate and Amine terminated resin.

Application took place in 4 steps:

1.  Concrete was prepared and cleaned of any residues that may have an affect to bonding.
2. Surface was primed and adhesion improved.
3. QuickSpray Industrial (aromatic) applied with heated mixing equipment.
4. 12 hours after the application the job was considered completed.

The complete process of surface-preparation and application of base coat was successfully completed in less then 24 hours.
