A VIP polyurea system was applied for sealing to protect against external influences. The Dubai Road & Transport Authority placed high demands on the waterproofing solution for the new Dubai Canal Bridge: In addition to quick application and long-term functionality, the visible areas should also be designed to be visually appealing. A system based on VIP’s QuickSeal PP350 polyurea membrane was selected for this reason. Great care was taken in surface preparation and priming, followed by the application of a 2mm thick layer of QuickSeal PP350 followed by a final PU top coat. The appearance of the coating fits harmoniously into the overall picture of the bridge and ensures permanent protection against environmental influences.
