Prize Roofing successfully completed the protective lining of a 720m² concrete tank at the Atlantis Wastewater Treatment Plant using VIP Quick Spray Industrial Pure Polyurea coating system.

The project began with thorough preparation of the raw concrete structure, ensuring a clean and sound substrate ready for coating. Following surface preparation, VIP 2K Epoxy Primer was applied across the entire surface to guarantee optimal adhesion and long-term performance of the subsequent coating layers.

The main protective lining was then applied using VIP Quick Spray Industrial Pure Polyurea, a high-performance coating system specifically suited for demanding industrial and wastewater environments. After application, a comprehensive final inspection was carried out to verify full coverage, coating integrity, and quality of the finished lining.

The project was completed with a rigorous watertight test alongside the commissioning of the new transfer pump systems, confirming the lining’s impermeability and structural reliability.

With all tests passed successfully, the project was formally signed off and the facility declared fully operational.

VIP Polyurea QuickSpray Industrial pure Polyurea coating can be applied to concrete, metal, foam, or other surfaces and within seconds, builds a rubber-like elastic skin that will not before punctures but has excellent resistance to heat distortion and sagging as it maintains its flexibility and shape. The coating, once cured, is also not affected by moisture and copes with fluctuations of temperature with its high elongation and superior tensile strength.

VIP QuickPrime is a two-component modified epoxy resin for the priming of a variety of surfaces. The Atlantis Q waste pond was used as a moisture blocking primer on the still-damp concrete surfaces. “The primer, which is VOC free, provides excellent adhesion and prevents capillary activated creation of pores on the concrete surfaces.
